Share Your Skills
Are you an artist, maker, or creative tutor looking for a friendly, welcoming space to run your workshops, or perhaps just looking for a bit of extra income? The Art Room is a vibrant and relaxed creative space in Redruth town centre where people come together to make, play and learn. We host all sorts of sessions — from ceramics and textiles to drawing, printmaking and creative play. Whether you’re an experienced tutor or new to running workshops, we’ve made it simple to share your skills here.

Where We Are
The Art Room is in Knights Arcade, opposite the cinema on the main shopping street in Redruth.
Parking: St Rumon’s Social Club, Fair Meadow, or New Cut car parks — all close by. The latter two are free after 6pm
Unloading: You can drive up Fore Street before 9am or after 4pm when the bollards are down.
Accessibility: We have a ramp and an accessible toilet.

Facilities

We can host up to 20 people seated (16 is ideal for workshops that need more space). You’ll have access to:
- Tables and chairs
- Tea and coffee facilities
- A basic kitchen with running water & two sinks
- WiFi
- Basic tools (scissors, cutting mats, knives)
- A large screen for presentations
- Background music
Two Ways to Run a Workshop
Option A – Space Hire Only (£60 per session)
You rent the space for a morning, afternoon, or evening and handle all the marketing, bookings and payments yourself. We’ll still happily share your posts on our social media pages to help spread the word. You provide all consumables for the activity.
Option B – Shared Promotion & Bookings (50/50 split)
If you’d like help with marketing and admin, we can manage bookings through The Art Room’s website and promote your workshop for you. You provide all consumables for the activity.
Here’s what that includes:
- Design of social media images and posters if you don’t already have your own
- Facebook events listing
- Flyers and posters outside the Art Room
- Email to our mailing list
- Listing on Cornwall 365
- Posts on Facebook and Instagram, plus shares to local groups
After Stripe booking fees are deducted, we split the remaining income 50/50.
To make this work smoothly, we ask tutors to send:
- A short blurb (around 80–100 words)
- 1–3 clear, good-quality photos
- Details of any materials or experience needed
We’ll create the listing, handle bookings, and share everything with you so we can promote the session together.
On the Day
Tutors can arrive at a prearranged time to set up. Tea, coffee and milk are provided — you’re welcome to bring snacks if you like.
If Tina isn’t there on the day, please take a few photos during your workshop (with participants’ permission). We love to share these creative moments online to inspire others. They’re also useful to promote future sessions if you choose to do them!
Payment
If you are simply hiring the space, you can arrange payment with Tina in advance. If you have chosen option B, Tina will confirm the total (minus any Stripe booking fees) after the workshop and ask you to invoice for your share. Payments are usually made straight away.
