Carve Club – Intro to Lino Printmaking
Carve Club is a relaxed, monthly lino session focused on slowing down and getting absorbed in the rhythmic, meditative process of carving and printmaking. You’ll learn traditional carving techniques, mark-making, and ways to develop your own visual language. Each month explores a different theme, using the work of well-known lino printmakers as inspiration. Erin from Pick Pretty Paints will guide you through tools and techniques while encouraging experimentation and personal expression.
February 28th — Shoreline Scenes
This introductory session is ideal for beginners. We’ll cover plotting and planning a lino block, getting comfortable with traditional tools, and learning basic carving techniques. Taking inspiration from Angela Harding’s landscape prints, we’ll explore how to break up a composition using shapes, textures, and objects found along the coastline.
Erin is a printmaker, author, teacher and paint creator based in the Sloop Studios in St. Ives.
