Simple Hoop Weaving

Learn the basics of weaving using an embroidery hoop. This a simple and accessible way to create your own textile artwork with the possibility of making a bigger piece by joining several circles together.

Jo McIntosh will show you how to begin by setting up your hoop with warp threads (the vertical strands that form the structure), then learn how to weave yarns over and under to build colour, texture, and pattern.

You’ll be encouraged to experiment with different materials and combinations, creating a unique piece at your own pace.

All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a finished woven piece, either ready to hang or to take further at home.
