Drawing with Perspective
In this session you’ll look at the basics of perspective and how they help us understand space in drawing. Using viewpoint, vanishing points and scale, you’ll explore how to create convincing and dynamic spatial drawings.
This is an unpressured, motivating drawing workshop for anyone who feels they’ve drifted away from drawing and would like to find their way back in. The session is designed for people who already have a bit of experience – you might sketch now and again, or once drew regularly and miss it – but you’ve lost momentum, confidence, or simply haven’t had the time or space to keep going. It’s also ideal if you’d call yourself a beginner, but not a “first marks on paper” complete beginner.
Led by Roger Towndrow, former Head of Fine Art at Falmouth University, the session offers a calm, encouraging environment to rebuild confidence and reconnect with drawing as something enjoyable and achievable. There will be practical guidance throughout, but plenty of space to work at your own pace and in your own way. Most of all, this is about getting started again without judgement or overthinking, and rediscovering the pleasure of drawing as a regular, creative habit.
