Slip Trailing Pottery Decoration with Fynn Allen

Join Fynn Allen, winner of the 2026 Pottery Throwdown  to learn how to  slip trail a design onto a pre made plate. During the workshop you will learn the skills of applying underglazes to the clay using various techniques and incoporating the use of a slip trailer.

All skill levels are welcome. If drawing feels a little daunting, Fynn will have a range of printed nature designs available for you to work from. All items made during the workshop will need to be dried and fired, and then glazed. Please allow upto 3 weeks after the workshop for this to be completed. Your items can be collected from Fynn’s studio after this time, or can be posted to you for an extra £8. All materials and refreshments are included.

Workshops are suitable for anyone over 14 years old, all under 18’s must be accompanied by a paying adult.

If you fancy a full day of pottery decoration, Fynn is also running a sgraffito class in the afternoon

Fynn Allen is the winner of The Great Pottery Throw Down 2026 and a multi-disciplinary artist based in Redruth. Working across ceramics, illustration and tattooing, his work draws inspiration from Cornwall’s landscape, wildlife and hidden details. Fynn brings a relaxed, welcoming teaching style and loves helping people discover the joy of making, whatever their level of experience.
