Batik for Beginners
Play with wax, dye and pattern in this beginner-friendly batik session. We’ll look at the simple tools and how to use them, then you’ll design and dye a couple of fabric pieces held in place in embroidery hoops.
When it’s dry, you can frame it as an artwork or stitch it onto a calico bag and add a few hand-sewn touches if you fancy. Everything you need is supplied; just wear clothes you’re happy to get messy.

After moving to Coventry in 2011, she began sharing her skills through community workshops and was an Artist in Residence during Coventry City of Culture 2021. Now based in Falmouth, she continues to share creative techniques and inspire others—especially those who think they “aren’t artistic.”
