Exploring Batik

Batik is a delicious method of decorating fabric using wax to resist dye, creating patterns and areas of colour as the fabric is coloured.

Building on our previous batik sessions, Nikki will be offering a chance to enjoy and develop your batik skills. Don’t worry if you haven’t done it before though, this is still for you!
We will experiment with small pieces to build confidence, then create a final image using melted wax and vivid colour dyes. Once the wax is ironed out you have the option to have it attached to a tote bag and to add decorative embellishments – take it away to use or give as a gift.
