Carve Club – Line & Structure in Lino Printmaking
Carve Club is a relaxed, monthly lino session focused on slowing down and getting absorbed in the rhythmic, meditative process of carving and printmaking. You’ll learn traditional carving techniques, mark-making, and ways to develop your own visual language. Each month explores a different theme, using the work of well-known lino printmakers as inspiration. Erin from Pick Pretty Paints will guide you through tools and techniques while encouraging experimentation and personal expression.
March 28th — Line & Structure This session focuses on developing control and confidence with your tools through structured mark-making. We’ll explore hatching techniques and how to balance positive and negative space within your carving. The session will take inspiration from printed architecture and the ways line and texture can be used to build form and atmosphere.
Erin is a printmaker, author, teacher and paint creator based in the Sloop Studios in St. Ives.
