Carve Club -Botanical Forms in Lino Print
Carve Club is a relaxed, monthly lino session focused on slowing down and getting absorbed in the rhythmic, meditative process of carving and printmaking. You’ll learn traditional carving techniques, mark-making, and ways to develop your own visual language. Each month explores a different theme, using the work of well-known lino printmakers as inspiration. Erin from Pick Pretty Paints will guide you through tools and techniques while encouraging experimentation and personal expression.
May 30th — Botanical Forms This session focuses on creating bold botanical stamps inspired by the hedgerow. Taking cues from the work of printmaker Angie Lewin, we’ll explore simplified plant forms and strong compositions. The emphasis will be on controlled carving and confident mark-making, using selected flora laid out on the table as direct visual reference.
Erin is a printmaker, author, teacher and paint creator based in the Sloop Studios in St. Ives.
