Rust Printing
Rust printing is an eco-friendly art process that uses rusted iron objects, vinegar and water to transfer organic oxidised pattens onto paper or fabrics like cotton or silk. By sandwiching damp, vinegar-soaked materials with rusty metal, a humid environment is created that develops rich, rustic and unique prints.
Artist and tutor Jo McIntosh will guide you through the process and show you how different effects can be made using two different agents to wet the fabric and paper. She will also give some ideas of what the rust printed paper and fabrics can be used for.
No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided.
